ABC News’s Democratic Presidential Debate proved to be an exciting one, as the biggest and most notable candidates in the Democratic primaries shared the debate stage for the first time. The debate, which lasted a total of three hours, covered issues of healthcare, racism, and gun control.
According to experts and political analysts, the candidates that they felt dominated the debate were Joe Biden, Beto O’Rourke, and Kamala Harris, while Andrew Yang, Elizabeth Warren, and Julian Castro were perceived to have done poorly. A notable absence from the debate however, was any questions regarding the economy. According to CNN, the economy was a top priority for Democratic voters this election.
Another absence from the debate in the form of a candidate was Marianne Williamson, who had gained steady support over the course of the campaign trail but failed to qualify for the debate. The next Democratic debate will be October 15.
