Head of the FBI special counsel into President Trump’s Russia ties, Robert Mueller, has suggested to the Justice Department that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn does not get any prison time for his “substantial evidence” in the Mueller investigation.
Michael Flynn was the first of Trump’s administration to be asked to resign, a more formal way of being fired. In a phone call, Flynn committed the illegal act of discussing sanctions with the target country, Russia. He was later an important piece of advice and evidence in the Mueller investigation, and gave important details.
For a background in the investigation, months ago, Robert Mueller was put in charge of a special counsel that would investigate to the Trump Campaign’s alleged ties with Russian government officials. Back to present day, both campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump lawyer Michael Cohen have been found guilty.
