Former First Lady Barbara Bush died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease last week, a disease that stays in the circulatory system and can cause heart failure. In her last days, Bush denied any serious medical treatment as she disliked the hospital, opting for staying at home and only receiving some care.
In Houston, yesterday, a memorial service and funeral was taken place at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, a mega church that both Barbara Bush and George H.W. Bush attended services for over five decades.
In attendance was sons George W. Bush, 43rd President, and Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida. Also attending were former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter, as well as Hillary Clinton. Melania Trump attended the funeral as well, taking the place of Donald Trump who watched the funeral from Mar-A-Lago.
