North Korean state media reported yesterday that the country felt that their nuclear arsenal has been “completed”, and that they will no longer be testing nuclear weapons. The rogue state stated they will close their nuclear test site, as well as suspend their long range missile program.
The KCNA News Agency, North Korea’s state run media, announced that North Korea will end all nuclear tests, mid range missile tests, and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Tests. The news has also come out amidst a string of easing tensions, as Kim Jong Un might potentially meet US President Donald Trump at a summit.
The decision by North Korea to end their testing program could also lead to a possible disarmament of their nuclear weapons, but so far only their testing program will end. The decision has also come just six days before a meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-In.
