A feared chemical attack in the rebel held city of Douma was executed last night. The attack itself has killed at least 70 civilians, according to authorities at the sight. Douma, a small city near the government held capital of Damascus, has been a target of many attacks.
So far, the Syrian government had denied any allegations or plans in the chemical attack, with the government claiming that “they don’t use any chemical attacks on citizens”. A US State Department Official regarded the attack as disturbing, and that Russia can also bear responsibility.
The attack, which hit the city in the later hours of Saturday, killed many in underground structures, even striking a make shift hospital within city limits as well. Bombs and airstrikes were also reported earlier that day, and its close vicinity to the Syrian capital alarmed many in the city.
