Earlier this week, President Donald Trump announced that he wanted to see the military guard the southern border in an address. The plan itself has been called for just days after a hard March for ICE forces, as illegal border crossings sky rocketed in the month just after they slumped in January and February.
Trump finally agreed to place National Guard troops all along the southern border and in places with low security. Trump also announced that he will place a couple thousand soldiers, and will remain there until the wall along the southern border is built.
Defense Secretary was tasked by Trump to find ways to train and place National Guard troops, and is expected by the administration to significantly reduce the amount of illegal border crossings.
